Everyone loves a great snack or goodie/gift bag! And they are so easy to assemble! Remember coveting those birthday gift bags from your childhood parties? The best part of the whole day!
A few weeks ago, I was chatting with a friend that has been visiting someone in the hospital on a daily basis. I could feel her fatigue and see the worry in her eyes. Many of us have been in her position, and I personally have been there more that I’d like to admit. Having a loved one in the hospital is not only physically tiring, but it really takes a toll on your mental well-being as well. You’re unable to focus when you’re not at the hospital and so drained when you are there- you don’t know which was is up. I didn’t know what I could do for her that would cheer her up a bit and let her know that I was thinking of her. After some thinking, I had the answer- Hospital Gift Bag! I threw together a little snack bag with items already in my home and enclosed a personal note. I stuck it all in a recycled gift bag and voila I was done.
I was thinking she could literally throw this in her car and use it on the way to or from the hospital. Sometimes there is no time to eat- but you really need to especially in tough situations. I wanted to support her in both physical and mental health. I left the bag as a little surprise for her when she wasn’t in her office. It was just a small something, and I hoped it would help a bit to give her some energy and send her some love at a much needed time. Sometimes friends are the best medicine.
