  • 15/30 numbers in an open book image with clouds in the background for august 15th book suggestion

My Lilac Loyals have insisted on more book suggestions and I must comply! So, instead of just seasonal book lists, I will also report on 2 books on the 15th and 30th of each month; a new series aptly named 15/30! I know- I’m so super creative with this name but hey, sometimes simple is better! One can never have too many good book reads…as if!

After thinking long and hard, I have decided that I would rather categorize my books and tell you only a few little tid-bits rather than give you a full summary.  I did this for my Summer Reads and received great responses.  I will tell you why I liked it and a smidge about it- and of course give you a link where you can travel to and receive more information.

To start out on this fun adventure, let me present a book that lives up to massive expectations. This literary work is a “change your life” kind of read and one that you have a hard time putting down.  It won the Pulitzer Prize and deservedly so.

August 15th Book Pick

Title: All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
Category: When You Want to Be Dazzled

Please go and get this book. Like right now.  Here’s the link for a second time; that’s how fast you need to grab it. Obviously, I am not the only one that feels this way and I want you to discover this feeling too.  Some authors just know how to use words to weave an amazing experience and oh how Doerr does this.  Backed by an amazing story and wonderful imagery- this is a piece of literature that will be famous for…well forever.

There are times when I read awarded pieces, and although always revered, sometimes I do not get that “oh my gosh I love this” feeling. I’ll admit, I was timid with this piece but after about 5 pages I was consumed. Some mystery, some history and numerous poignant feelings make this book a slam dunk.  I’m so proud for All the Light We Cannot See to be my first 15/30 featured book. Let me know what you think!
