So excited to announce the winner of KML’s December contest that it comes before the December 30th book suggestion!  Congratulations BRENDA!  Your book Me Before You by JoJo Moyes is on its way!  Hope you love it as much as I did!

Now onto the December book suggestion!

I read this book years ago and it still sticks out in my mind. Before you read on…let me warn you.  This is 100% eighteen plus reading.  There is language and scenes which are for sure not for everyone. As you all know, I do not discriminate any books and I loved this deep, emotional read.  But again, so you are not fooled- this is a rough one that is raw and real (and again adult). When I happened upon this book from the suggestion of a friend, I think I was in search for something of this genre.  Sometimes you just need a good, deep read am I right? At times, a good cry or emotional roller coaster can put our lives into perspective and also remind us that we are all human and have the right to feel; not just be robots to the hum-drum of daily life.

December 30th Book Suggestion

Title: Left Drowning by Jessica Park

Category: Emotional, Raw, Captivating (and 18+)

Published in 2013, the book is, in my words, is about survival.  Tragedy is a friend of this literary piece and in spades it comes.  And the author makes you feel it so very, very much.  Then you will experience the whole emotional cycle as you devour this college-aged set story. Love, loss, anger, betrayal, sadness, depression, elation and joy are just some of the adjectives you will encounter. The main character has suffered loss and must hold herself about water and persevere in order to live.  A love story is woven in and twists and turns are discovered.  As usual, I cannot give too much away!
